I signed up for Amazon Prime mainly for the free two-day shipping. Then they added same day delivery for certain items and that was a lifesaver for many mom emergencies, like my kids waiting until two days before a project is due to say they need a random item that’s not available anywhere near us.

But there are lots of other things that come with a membership. Here are a few of my favorites for keeping an endless supply of books for my girls and me.

Prime reading. Here you will find Kindle books  and magazines for you and your children. Amazon does a good job of creating reading lists, too. Here is one “Black voices and stories” that includes titles like The Souls of Black Folk by W.E.B. Du Bois and children’s book Big Hair Don’t Care by Crystal Swain-Bates.

Another book perk is first reads. I love the idea of this!   Every month you can get early access to editors’ picks.

When I tell you this has been a lifesaver, this is one of my best mom hacks. It has saved me from many days of hearing, “I have nothing to read,” or, “There’s nothing to do.” And since the list is updated regularly there are always new options.

Happy Reading!
